If there was one book that exemplified Marvel Comics marketing strategy in the early 1990 s, it would be this one My memories of reading it are largely lost to the sands of time but I remember the big three of Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and the Punisher being drawn to a small town for vague reasons to go up against Mephisto s son, Blackheart The plot was pretty thin, as I recall, and mostly a cash grab I can picture the meeting that spawned it You know, since we put Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and the [...]

Here is a blast from the past From the not overly creative writing of Howard Mackie and the tired, dated and never really THAT good artwork of John Romita Jr we have this motley Marvel team up of Wolverine, Punisher and Ghost Rider. Some mysterious person has sent a note to Dan Ketch, Logan and Frank Castle Each note offers them information on something very important to each of them Implausibly, though not for Mr Mackie, all three end up at some local boarding house run by a mother and her young [...]

2,5 stars100% pure 90s Marvel money grabber crossover.Story is weak, but thanks to Janson s inks Romita Jr almost seems a good artist.

Here is a cash grab crossover that manages to not play to the strengths of any of the characters involved The art is decent.

With such a small page count there really wasn t ample space to throw these three heroes together in any meaningful way which really is a shame since Hearts of Darkness touches on a few interesting themes how each of these characters teeters between hero anti hero, the lengths they would go to learn secrets from their past, etc The artwork is pretty good I really liked the bold dark likes sometimes reminiscent of a Mignola Miller hybrid but other times, particularly with Ghost Rider, the linewor [...]

I won t say I didn t enjoy it, but it didn t live up to its own hype It talks about how they are dark heroes, but never really confronts it There is no temptation in the story for them to go over the edge to show how they walk a grey line The villian they fight is obviously evil and they never show any temptations.

It was a fun and quick read, my first foray into 90s comics and was not disappointed in the illustrations, the plot was iffy, unoriginal

Not a bad story, but I think it was possibly too short If it had pages it might have gone in depth, but as a short story it doesn t do badly A good mix of some of the hardest and roughest lone riders in the Marvel universe, I liked the three flung together as somewhat kindred spirits.

It wasn t that great a story, when I read it as a teenager But I do remember liking it This was my first exposure to Ghost Rider as a kid.
