Summarize the book:This is the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Snow White is born a beautiful girl with skin as white as snow and hair as black as night. She is a princess. Her mother dies and her dad-the king- marries a new queen. She is concerned only with being the most beautiful woman in the land. She asks a mirror to tell her she is the most beautiful. After Snow White grows up the mirror tells the queen that she is now the most beautiful. The queen sends the princess to the fores [...]

The illustrations are the real standout here. They are both eye-popping with their bold use of color and basic shapes (they remind me a little of Mondrian's work), and the rest of the background work uses one-line drawing, using a single, uninterrupted line to create squirrels, plates, trees, castles, etc. I think kids would find tracing the line particularly fun. The elements of the story are slightly changed. The prince, for some reason, is blue because the sky was blue when he was born, which [...]

I saw a review for this version on a blog and I absolutely love the illustrations. I love the simplicity of the retelling. It is not nearly as scary as the Disney version. The ending was a little different, but I think I like it that way. We checked this out from the library, but I definitely plan on adding to our own library.

This is a really simplified version of the classic fairy tale, with really different/interesting illustrations (I didn't love them, but like to expose my children to many different types of art). Mason really loved this book, and requested it many times a day while we had it from the library.

This is Jane's favorite book. We returned it to the library almost two months ago and she still talks about it. I love the wording and the illustrations--very fun.

Traditional Literature-The story line is simple and follows that of the classic Snow White story. The illustrations though are really interesting, modern with lots of geometric shapes and colors.
