The Simple things in life - the meaning of life- a day in the sun - you'll find this and more in The Remaining Difficulty.Poetry is thoughts that breathe and words that burn. The Remaining Difficulty is easy to read, easy to understand. It will bring you a quick look to help you understand life and what it is all about. “The Remaining Difficulty” by Cesar NascimentoThe photo on the cover and the title of this selection of poems fits its content to a tee. The poems are strong in content and profound in meaning; at times difficult to accept or agree with and you are left with some difficulty in interpretation. In light of this I believe this is Nascimento’s intent. He has created several poems that got my brain wheel working and this is what poetry should do; a very interesting read indeed.
I really connected with the poems in the first part of the book but I loved the flow of each section til the slightly more calming facts of life section. Nothing New Under the sun, the last line really caught me, very beautiful imagery throughout.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I like poetry that rhymes or at least has some kind of rhythm to it. Aside from that, these poems felt like they were trying to hard. There were some better moments, but overall the "book" was just ok.
It was an emotional read. The verses reminded me of myself. Long ago, I was like him, full of despair, and doubts, and felt betrayed by existence. He should keep writing, it was very enjoyable, and thought-provoking. I loved it :)
Initially I thought this collection of poems was going to be morose but after persevering with it I actually liked it!
The poems are really good, have a very deep meaning, and are simple to understand. They make us think about what is really important in life.
Extremely simplistic, and silly, and melodramatic.
He rhapsodies the quotidian. Succinct yet complete. True poetry.
It's a joke that this is poetry, right? I can't stop laughing!
lovely poems, fantastic verses but some were difficult to understand.
Great book!
