Rating Clarification: 2.5 StarsRadiant Shadows is my least favorite book of the series, and I'm sorry to say I've been feeling a decline in its allure since Fragile Eternity. I plowed through FE in the hopes that it was the catalyst that would shift the storyline and bring the major players to an endgame of explosive proportions, but I felt I was back to square one with Radiant Shadows. The first 100 pages or so were a HUGE borefest. I kept nodding off as I trudged through a few pages at a time. [...]

So, Radiant Shadows was better than Fragile Eternity. Just when I thought all the new elements of this faery world had been revealed, Marr presents a bunch of additional characters with new and interesting abilities. It really reinvigorated the story and pulled together some pieces I think are going to be important in the final book.Take my conservative rating with a grain of salt. The fact that I'm still even reading this series when I abandoned 20+ YA recently because of a mood change says som [...]

3 out of 10ревью на русском/review in russianDevlin was out of his character. I didn't like Ani. I liked Rae, though. But all this trio thing (and we saw it before in this series) makes me sick. Also, I think Sorcha is a crazy banana. And Bananac (see the irony?) is the only person who acts due to her nature. The idea with Keenan's disappearance is ridiculous. I can imagine how angry I would be while reading the last book. Wicked Lovely (Коварная Красота):— Wicked [...]

AWESOME book; excerpt from fangirl e-mail I sent to the author while reading her book: Melissa, I must tell you. I'm REALLY REALLY enjoying RADIANT SHADOWS. I'm in the middle of it . . . this one -- and you must know how I loved the others -- but this one is my favorite. It's psychologically fascinating, intellectually interesting, the prose is rich and beautiful and spare, and it's such a layered world that is deep and involved because of the reader's knowledge of this world you created & * [...]

One of the biggest things I noticed about Radiant Shadows, if not the first, was that it was lighter than Ink Exchange. You wouldn't think anything surrounding the Dark Court could be taken in such a manner. But as I closed the cover of the book, I found myself feelingwellhappy. This isn't a feeling I normally associate with the Wicked Lovely stand-alones, but it just felt so right. There's such a feeling of triumph and completion to be had when this book is finished, it's just blissful. I could [...]

Seriously, it’s ridiculous how much I’m enjoying the reread of this series. This book in particular I really loved. Ani and Devlin are amazing characters and I loved seeing more of the world and drama unfold without a focus on Ash and Keenan who were, honestly, starting to annoy me. I am obsessed with The Hounds and their Steeds and with Iri Niall and the dark court. Give me more! I don’t want to read the next book and have the series be over.

My thoughtsOnce again Melissa Marr whisks readers off to a magical world where the veil between Moral and Faerie worlds is thin. She uses her writing talents to manipulate readers into falling for, even rooting for, the characters in the story, even when its the villain. Radiant Shadows shifts focus from Aislinn and Seth to Ani, daughter of Gabriel and Devlin, the high Queen's Bloody Hands. The characters were brilliantly written. I felt sympathy for Devlin; felt his indecision as he is torn bet [...]

As big of a fan as I am of the other books in this series, I didn't immediately jump on this book when I got it. I wasn't particularly intrigued about Ani and I didn't know Devlin - so the draw to read their story wasn't there initially. However, when I picked up the book yesterday and immersed myself back in Marr's world of Faerie, I was completely entranced. The book was made all that more special by featuring my favorite faeries of books past - Niall, Seth and Irial - their inclusion and that [...]

So I've been fairly itching to know where this series would go after the third book--Fragile Eternity--came out last year and utterly realigned my loyalties as far as the faery courts go. Well, that's perhaps not entirely accurate. They were already leaning heavily in that direction after Ink Exchange. But the developments in Fragile Eternity cemented the shift so firmly, I wondered if I would ever recover my early fondness for some characters or if, alternately, anything on God's green earth wo [...]

With Radiant Shadows, the fourth installment of Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series, readers were introduced to a vast number of fast-paced plot developments as well as new, or previously unexplored, characters. The numerous changes that took place in the fairy world with Radiant, including deaths, injuries, new kings, new queens and a sealing of the portal to the mortal world (it rhymes!), stood in sharp contrast to the third book Fragile Eternity, which contained little plot other than minor r [...]

Radiant Shadows book 4 of Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series is my favorite. It is the story of Devlin, keeper of order in Faerie and Ani, halfling daughter of Gabriel, Hound keeper of order of the Dark Court. As a young child Ani, Tish and Rabbit were hidden safely as their mother was killed in the mortal world. They were taken in and protected by the previous Dark Court King, Irial. Ani is now beginning to change, but she needs both the emotions of the Dark Court and skin touch like the Hound [...]

By now Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series has reached a tipping point where readers either get hooked, or start to forget exactly who all the characters are, what they’re doing and why they care about it.I don’t want to come across too harsh, Radiant Shadows begins much stronger than probably any other of her books, the prose is tighter, the scenes are (slightly) more vivid and we see the beginnings of some intricate, interesting plotlines.Unfortunately Radiant Shadows quickly descends in [...]

Not bad, but "not bad" is definetely not what I expect from mrs Marr, I thought I was reading another writer. Throughout the Wicked Lovely series we saw strong heroes and heroines that take matters into theis own hands, make tough desicions, challenge fate ( if there is really one ) wove their own paths, and be brave when it's time to pay the price for the choices they made. All these things are the ones that made this series extaordinary. So I don't understand mrs' Marr choise to make the 4th b [...]

Actual rating 4.5 starsCriticallyPlot - 4 out of 5 starsThe plot of this book is full of intrigue, drama, betrayal and death. The books in this series have a slow pace in general but they're still easy to read and addictive. I specially liked the new kinds of magic introduced in this one. Writing Style - 4 out of 5 starsI really like Marr's writing style. It feels very deliberate as you read and it's incredibly detailed. The POV of these books are always changing and the voices all sound distinc [...]

I am awfully sick of reading the phrase 'what's best for my court' which seems to be repeated ad nauseum throughout this series and I GET IT! Everyone does what is best for their court. Can we NOW move on?While I still don't enjoy the way Marr throws the reader into the story and gives all kinds of exposition without actually telling anything, I did like this book a bit more because we had a break from Aislinn and her Seth/Keenan seesawing which I'm quite tired of reading.Having read the whole b [...]

Gostei muit [...]

Radiant Shadows is the last installment published in the Wicked Lovely series and I loved it. It was amazing. Couldn't put it down, I must say my fav in the series so far. Many things happen in this book, a lot of changes and surprises. What was great about this book was that you get to see a lot more characters like Niall, Seth and Irial. And Ani's evolution through the book was great, loved to see her become stronger and stronger with every page. The chemistry between Ani and Dev was great. I l [...]

I have wanted to read the next book in this series, since I finished Wicked Lovely. Radiant Shadows was like a brand new books, that has nothing to do with the series, other then it was written by the same other as the other three books and it shared a themed book cover. I had no clue what was taking place in this book. The characters were all new to me and the story line did not connect to the prior book. There might have been one of two mentions of Seth, Ash and Queen Mab but that was it. All [...]

This one was pretty interesting although I wouldv'e liked to know what's going on with Ash, Keenan, and Donia. I guess Keenan is missing?I'm glad that Ani and Devlin was able to find a way to be together and at first I was worried about how Seth would get back but it seems I didn't need to.I'm curious how all this will affect the courts in mortal world though.

My Thoughts:I thought about waiting until tomorrow to write my review but there's alot of info to take in & I wanted to write it while it was still fresh in my mind.First, Aislinn, Keenan, Donia & a few other characters are completely absent in the fourth addition to this series. Apparently Keenan is off playing hooky somewhere. Not that I'm complaining. I am beyond sick of this Aislinn/Seth/Keenan love triangle, not to mention I'm pretty disgusted with Aislinn right now after all that c [...]

The following review pertains to the uncorrected proof in paperback. I'm the first to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the first in this series, Wicked Lovely. With its angsty Twilight-esk main characters it certainly caught the imagination of readers, but I've never been one for the emo girl. For one thing, I fail to understand why any immortal would want anything to do with that kind of sulky immature behavior. I'm only in my 30's and already try to stay well shod of it. I should also state for th [...]

By far my favorite book of the series! This fae series is one of a kind. Each novel could possibly stand alone, but the series is better savored if read in the order of release. The Wicked Lovely Books are not your average tale of twinkling fairies of hope and love. The fae in these stories are dangerous, destructive and lethal. Their world isn't sunshine and rainbows, it's despair and longing. It's so richly layered, so stunningly crafted, I was just taken aback by the entire thing. I didn't put [...]

I absolutely LOVED Radiant Shadows almost as much as Wicked Lovely. It's dark and edgy. The characters are captivating. Bananach is so unpredictable and scary. Every scene with her made me tense with the fear of what she might do. The Dark Court is so fascinating to me. I liked reading about Devlin's internal struggle with his two conflicting natures. There were a few things that I disliked and prevented me from rating RS 5 stars. I was totally confused reading about the Hunt. The Hunt seems to [...]

I have been going back and forth on the rating for this one and I decided on 4 stars. I give it 4 because the more I think about it the more I love how Marr is setting this up for a finale. This book enters around two minor characters that you met briefly in her previous book, but by the end of this one they turn out to be major players in her faery world. I knew that Radiant Shadows would not focus on Seth and Ash so I went thinking that this one would be a side story like Ink Exchange, but I n [...]

A nice book, lovely story, couldn't put it out of my hands! It was much better than the last and it left a big open ending, can't wait to get my hands on all the coming books!!!

Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr is book four in the fairie romance series. So close to the end now.Devlin has been the High Court’s assassin since the beginning. He bloodies his hands so the Unchanging Queen can maintain order. But there have been a couple of times he’s not done as he was told; one of those times is when he was meant to murder Ani as a child. Ani is a halfling who shouldn’t be able to do all of what she can do. Which makes her dangerous and an asset. Years after Devlin was [...]

I beginning to think that the books that don't involve Aislinn, Keenan, and Seth are better than the ones that do. Ink Exchange and Radiant Shadows focus on the World of Faerie and the Dark Court. The plot is better and it seems as though the writing is as well.SummaryAni, Tish, and Rabbit are the offspring of Gabriel, the 2nd for Niall, King of the Dark Court. Gabriel is a "wolf" who hunts with a pack called The Hunt. They have steed that change into anything that can be ridden. Gabriel is extr [...]

Whoa -- talk about a LOT to process! I'm hoping that I better absorb the massive changes wrought from this one small novel to her fantasy world I was only just beginning you comprehend!! I've got the next 2 volumes sitting beside me. I am motivated to make sense of her world's & more so her "courts," and these repercussions created in this part of the series.
